The Quest for Customized Skin Care and Cosmetics

I am a beauty and lifestyle blogger who frequently tests skincare products and builds different skincare routines nearly every day. Some products work very well, but others are a swing and miss–sometimes with serious consequences for my skin.  Although that is unpleasant, it seems inevitable for that to happen for those of us who test many different brands often.

Some companies falsely claim to make a product that will work for everyone, but that is always deceptive.  Others take the customization route, and Sephora’s Skin IQ for skincare and Sephora + Pantone Color IQ for cosmetics is one of the best at that.

Skin IQ offers customers a short quiz, after which one can speak to a skin consultant at any Sephora store, who will also demonstrate how to build the best personalized skincare regimen.

Sephora + Pantone Color IQ does something similar for those of us who are not lucky enough to walk down the runway for Alexander McQueen, and need to find the right cosmetics to precisely fit our skin tone on our own.  An in-store Sephora consultant will employ a special camera device to determine the perfect match for one’s foundation, press powder, BB cream, and so on, and provide a special number that you can use in the store, or online, to build the perfect beauty routine based on your skin tone.

If you do not have a Sephora + Pantone Color IQ number, is still a great site to discover new products, because they are genuinely concerned with matching their customers’ needs exactly.
